Hello.
After upgrading from openSuSE 11.3 to 12.1, I have problems, launching
KDE. KDM appears well, I enter the password and in a few seconds kde crashes. The log of the crash follows.
I tried both openSuSE embeded KDE version and one gained from
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/48/openSUSE_12.1/.
If I start the simple termital (xterm) instead of KDE, I can run
ksmserver , all the KDE staff starts OK.

In case of such upgrade, please check any .rpmnew files in /etc especially then compare to your previous file, and adapt or update the previous one by the content of new ones.
There is nothing that relates to KDE: ./sane.d/dll.conf.rpmnew ./mplayer/mplayer.conf.rpmnew ./pulse/client.conf.rpmnew ./cups/cupsd.conf.rpmnew ./zypp/zypp.conf.rpmnew ./inittab.rpmnew ./security/pam_mount.conf.xml.rpmnew ./mail/submit.cf.rpmnew ./dhclient.conf.rpmnew ./pam.d/login.rpmnew ./sendmail.cf.rpmnew ./sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2.rpmnew
Feel free to think that login, inittab, pulse, pam dhclient are all important keys -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
