Indeed. It does make a bad impression if repos are broken, no matter whether 11.3 will run out in months or not. So if UpdatedApps does not get the attention that would be needed to recommend it (remember that this was the repo managed by opensuse staff) it should be removed from the community repos list offered in YaST.
Even if it was maintained by someone who knew what they were doing, it's very unlikely anyone would test all the packages on all suse versions and archs. KUA is using a distinct "if it builds, ship it!" policy. Noone reported any problems until now, so I don't think it would have made a difference if someone else maintained it.
