Running the latest update of kmail (4.7.0-290.6) I am still surprised by the time it takes to synchronize folders. I have some big folders which I seldom use but which are synchronized every time I get email from my pop accounts (30 minutes intervals). I would think it should be possible to improve this synchronizing. Something like, finding out if something has changed since the last time in a folder. If nothing has brought in via the filter, do not synchronize that folder. Why the trash folder is synchronized is something I also do not understand. Trash is what it is, just trash.
Could somebody explain why synchronizing works like it does?
Since there are hardly any kdepim devs on this list, this is not the right place to ask. openSUSE mainly does patching and packaging, so you should post this kind of question to the kdepim-devel mailinglist at kde.org.
