For Kopete, I'm not sure what is missing there. Kopete should just work, if you have the accounts setup for the various IM services. I would guess it's just something you've missed or failed to do for it. Are you able to use the system to get on the internet? Yes, my system is able to reach internet , and my system able to reach internet through konqueror too .
Here are a list of proxy bugs in Kopete. Can you have a look at them and add yourself if any of them correspond. Otherwise, report a new bug and mention what kind of proxy setup you are using (socks, http, ...).
Need to use common SOCKS5 proxy server settings http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62520
Kopete: MSN slow login with proxy http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133271
Proxy HTTP does not work http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135331
Thanks Will Stephenson for understanding the problem and giving right suggestion on this. Well, the above mentioned URL specified that kopete will not work with HTTP proxy , and this is a bug which is fixed now . But i am not understanding, as SLES10/SLES10 contains latest version KDE and GNOME , why those fixed patches still not applied to kopete in SLES10/SLED10 ? . If this is bug where Novell already know about it , then why Novell still not released patch for this ?
