hey ya,
Hi!
i just wanted to update my stable packages of plasma 5 and frameworks 5 to the latest 5.0.2 bugfix and 5.2.0 release respectively.
but apparently the repo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Frameworks5/openSUSE_13.1/ has some packages of git-master-snapshots instead of the released stable packages.
i didn't noticed this until after the update, so now my plasma5-session is basically broken.
What do you mean with "basically broken"? well, something crashes to the point of no return. display flickers, turns black, the panel is shown in grey, thats it. Everything works fine here (on 13.1 as well).
Make sure that you updated _all_ packages to the latest versions (from KDE:Frameworks5 _and_ KDE:Qt5). i just did this again. and there have been indeed some missing framework-

Having a mixture of old 5.0.1 and new 5.0.95 plasma packages definitely can (and will) cause problems. And all Frameworks packages should be 5.2.0 as well.
is this intentional?
Probably, but I cannot really give you a definitive answer.
I'd say this maybe has been done because of the imminent openSUSE 13.2 Beta release. It might not be possible to ship 13.2 with Plasma 5.1.x otherwise. okay, i totally understand that. thanks for the heads-up.
fyi: with the new packages plasma still crashes occasionally. but i've been able get krunner working. well i dont see anything, but i can type a command: kwin_x11 --replace did the trick. so kwin5 crashes. i'm going to investigate and probably file a bug report. thanks for the help, sebastian
and if so, where can i get the actual stable packages? are there any at all?
None that I know of.
Kind Regards, Wolfgang
