Ok, thanks Fred, I'll keep this in mind when finally getting around to getting all my equipment.

An answer to your 10 updating question on the SuSE list. Several on the OpenSuSe list have indeed done updates from 9.3 to 10.0 and have had success in doing so. No real deal breaking reports, do I remember seeing about that! If you have done a great deal of updating, adding programs, etc. then a clean install might be best, but if you are running pretty much a stock 9.3 with security updates, I do believe you will be pleased with the results.
Well, most of us have added some apps. ;) I've updated security and all of the additional updates from SUSE, like KDE. I may backup, as usual, and then try it. If it doesn't work properly, just do a fresh install. Thanks, Lee, Fred -- Planet Earth - a subsidiary of Microsoft. We have no bugs in our software, Never! We do have undocumented added features, that you will find amusing, at no added cost to you, at this time.
