Thanks. I have both kmenu and the SuSE menu on my panel. When I attempt to edit the kmenu, the SuSE menu appears as a submenu.
Now, when I expand kmenu, the "Internet", listing, for example, further expands into four submenus. However, when I similiarly expand the "Internet" section while in the menu editor, those 4 submenus headings do not appear, but submenu headings from other sections of the kmenu (e.g., "terminal applications") do appear. Now, if I add a new menu item under the "Internet" heading and close the menu editor, that new entry does not appear when I expand the kmenu. However, it does appear if I re-open the menu editor. ===============
Ok, what version of SuSE are you using? I remember this happening while using 8.1, but not since I started using 8.2 has it exhibited that behavior. After adding your items to the menu, you could of course restart KDE to "refresh" things, but there's an easier way too. Open a shell and type: kbuildsycoca This will run what should be run anytime KDE changes like this happen. That was the only solution that we came up with to resolve the problem, except of course to update to 8.2! ;o) Be sure you are not putting your items in the "hidden" submenu items too. You can go into Control Center to change the settings to show hidden items, but I am not sure I would do that.
