Dotan, Thanks for reacting so quickly. Dotan Cohen schreef:
- i use konqueror as file manager, but when you use the back button to go up in the file tree than you are moved back to the top of the parent folder. And when you are browsing for something in /usr or /etc that adds an enormous amount of mouseclicks and confusion!
Fixed in 4.4 (I knew this for Dolphin, but just checked in Konqueror to be sure).
Very glad to hear this!
- In KDE 3.5 i could change the mount options for USB stick as a user (like "shortname=mixed") in the notifier applet. Now there is no way to do this.

Will do. Thought i had entered something in an existing bug already. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=168914 This explains all the usecases. A similar bg is: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161673 Most problems are with locales and capitals (vfat) and label setting.
What use case is not satisfied with opening System Settings? Make a good argument for adding it there.
This is very simple. Every other operating system that i know of behaves like this (including KDE 3,5). People expect this to be reachable like this. And it are desktop settings and as such should be available via the properties of the desktop. An example: My kids used to be able to change wallpapers like this for example, and they liked it very much. In the new KDE control centre even i have a hard time to find it. b.t.w. and not to add to your burden: they also expect that if you set a wallpaper via Firefox that it works - just like with the filepicker misery something where more cooperation between the desktop would be more than nice. Maybe this does not seem important but it is a major reason that the other members of my family pick up the windows notebook to work with.
- I still use the old menu (never liked kickoff), but i cannot choose for a bigger amount of favorites on top and not for having the real favourites there. It is stuck to the latest 5.
In the old menu, I was able to add another application to Favourites just by right-clicking the app and choosing Add To Favorites. Now there are six.
It adds to a favorite submenu that i cannot order / maintain and again adds a continuously required mouseclick. This is not the ame as the list on top. But maybe my version of KDE is too old.
