People over on the regular opensuse-en list suggested I come here for an issue I seem to be having. I am running Leap 42.3 and using KDE. In several, but not all GTK applications, when I hover the mouse over an icon, all I get is an empty box. When I use Gnome I don't have the problem. On my SuSE 13.2 system I don't have the problem. It all started when I started using the eclipse IDE. I reported the problem on their forum. They asked for a desktop recording so they could see what I was doing. So I attempted to use xvidcap to provide it. But then I noticed that xvidcap did the same thing. So I went over to the opensuse list for assistance. I tried several of these in addition to eclipse and xvidcap: geeqie - emtpy tooltip dialog boxes gparted - empty tooltip dialog boxes inkscape - empty tooltip dialog boxes midori - empty tooltip dialog boxes gnumeric - tooltip dialog boxes work evince - tooltip dialog boxes work gedit - tooltip dialog boxes work abiword - tooltip dialog boxes work meld - tooltip dialog boxes work geany - tooltip dialog boxes work gthumb - tooltip dialog boxes work shotwell - tooltip dialog boxes work gnote - tooltip dialog boxes work gimp - tooltip dialog boxes work On all the above pgms that work, the box has a black bg with white text. All the ones that are blank appear to be a white bg with no or white text. I thought I found where to configure that so I changed the setting to a white bg with black colors expecting the applications that work to "change". But no my change had no affect. The original thread over on opensuse-en is at: https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2017-10/msg00242.html I have more than 1 Leap 42.3 system and the same thing happens on all of them. My 13.2 system does not have the issue. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.
