Using KDF (or any other unsupported repo upgrading their entire DE and core libraries and whatnot) makes them geeks or version whores. And they no longer have any right to complain about little niggles. Hmm..well, I agree with you :-) Thank you for advice!
I think they don't have a right to whine about bugs, or expect there to be no bugs, or expect them to be fixed immediately, but they certainly should still be reporting them / asking questions. After all this code will go in to stable openSUSE eventually, and it's best if we catch issues early.
But maybe latest phonon should have "obsoletes" on phonon-backend-xine or something, to ensure a smooth upgrade path from 11.4 -> 12.1. Not sure how best to handle those sort of things.
