Hi guys,
I'm sorry for not attending yesterdays meeting but after some talk in -kde I realized you want to replace KDE:KDE4:Playground with something like KDE:Unstable:Playground.
IMHO that is plain wrong for two reasons:
1. The URL implies some association with :Unstable which is just wrong. 2. It is simply under the wrong namespace.
We created "KDE:Extra" for "community" maintained packages and the stuff in :Playground is either a SVN snapshot from :Extra or :Distro:Factory. But still it is _only_ community maintained!
IMHO the :Playground stuff should therefore be under a namespace that makes it explicitly clear that those packages are _only_ community maintained. Further them being bellow KDE:Unstable gives the wrong intention since those packages have _nothing_ to do with the :Unstable project.
Could you please therefore reconsider your decision and use "KDE:Extra:Playground" instead? This way it would be clear that anything bellow :Extra is community maintained and :Playground speaks for itself but it doesn't imply any relationships to :Unstable which are simply not valid.
Personally I certainly couldn't care less since I'll be able to select the repos I need but since the purpose of all that renaming fuss is to create a more "reasonable" layout I beg you to put the :Playground stuff bellow :Extra since it is _only_ maintained by the community and has nothing to do with the :Unstable repo.
Therefore please reconsider your decision.
regards, Stephan
