Hello, I've recently installed SuSE Linux 8.0 Personal and I have some problems with the kinternet application. When I configure my 56k modem dial-up connection using YAST2 and try to connect via kinternet, after a short time the modem hangs-up. From the log window I get something like this: ... pppd: User Access Verification pppd: Username: pppd: --> Looks like a login prompt. pppd: --> Sending: dummy pppd: dummy pppd: Password: pppd: --> Looks like a password prompt. pppd: --> Sending: (password) pppd: % Authentication failed. pppd: Username: pppd: --> Looks like a login prompt. pppd: --> Sending: dummy pppd: dummy pppd: Password: pppd: --> Looks like a password prompt. pppd: --> Sending: (password) pppd: % Authentication failed. pppd: NO CARRIER Stopping connection. (2002-05-22 22:17:43 EEST) ... I have checked the username and the password and I can also connect via kppp without any problems. What's going wrong?Any ideas? By the way, what does the name "SuSE" stand for? Thanks in advance
