process identified that kdebase3-SuSE, susehelp and susehelp_en conflicted with the upgrade and had to be deleted.
I used apt/synaptic to do this upgrade. I don't remember suse-help being removed and as a matter of fact synaptic currently shows it as being installed. (maybe I re-installed it?) If you do need to remove it I suspect that it can be re-installed w/out a problem. What is missing is the menu link for the program. These links are part of the kdebase3-SuSE package I believe. (As well as numerous icons) Although I no longer have a menu link to SuSEhelp, I am able to access SuSEhelp through my browser, just type 127.0.0.1 into the url field of your browser and click on the link (near the Documentation graphic) This assumes that apache is installed and running and DOC_SERVER=yes is in yast->system->sysconfig. and DOC_ALLOW=localhost in yast->system->sysconfig KDE's help system is becomming more complete and is quite helpful for simple questions as well. The main things I noticed missing were SuSEwatcher and SuSEplugger. I had just upgraded to 9.0 (from 8.1) before doing the kde3.2 upgrade so I never really got to try out these 2 programs. Once I was ready to try them they were no longer available to me (kdebase3-SuSE). Also if you are fond of the embedded krpmview then you will miss that as well, it is reported to not work w/ KDE3.2 and rpm's are opened by kpackage instead.
One of the problems with KDE 3.2 is that SuSE hasn't ported the goodies in kdebase3-SuSE over to KDE 3.2. Some folks have said that it's possible to retain kdebase3-SuSE anyway and just override it where necessary. That's what I'd do. But then again, my experience with 3.2 (partly for that reason) has been so negative that I've reverted to 3.1.4.
Seems like alot of people had less than splendid results w/ the upgrade. I was quite lucky, I didn't even log out of my 3 kde sessions until synaptic had finished the upgrade, then went to init 3 and back to init 5.
