I figured out the solution. Both SFTP and FISH seem to give me the same result --- when I log into the university's server, I have only window that shows the list of my folders and files on the server. But, I don't see the file structure on my PC. I have so far used WinSCP on Windows, so I was used to finding two parallel panels in one window: one panel showing my desktop's content's and the other panel showing the server's contents. So, I was trying to find a similar panel structure in Konqueror. But, Konqueror does not seem to work that way. So, this is how I upload my files to the server now: I open another Konqueror window in which I display my PC's contents. Then, I drag and drop from this new window into the Window showing the server's contents. Best wishes, Ram.
