Hello all. I hope this is the correct place to post this issue. I am running opensuse on AMD x86_64. I have updated my KDE installation by adding the following yast installation source, and have been running 3.5 for some time with no problems. www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/x86_64/supplementary/KDE/update_for_10.0/yast-source/ Yesterday (15th Jan) I updated my GNOME installation by adding the following to my installation sources in yast. www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/x86_64/supplementary/GNOME/update_for_10.0/yast-source/ I updated all the KDE components first, then all the gnome components. I was using KDE at the time and everythign seemed fine. I logged out of KDE and started the gnome desktop to see if it worked etc. and everything seemed fine there too. I ran firefox and thunderbird with no problems. once I had checked it was working I logged out and started KDE again. everything seemed normal, until i tried to run firefox. It would not run, neither would thunderbird. I tried to run applications from the command line which resulted in an error about 'unable to find libmozjs.so'. as a quick fix i added the thunderbird dir (/usr/lib64/thunderbird i think) to /etc/ld.so.conf.d/thunderbird.conf and ran ldconfig. the only result was thunderbird segfaulting. can anyone think of a reason that this would happen in KDE but no gnome? please help, gnome is nice, but i use KDE every day and without my favourite browser and email i'm going to have to switch to gnome, or do a complete re-installation! thanks, adam.
