So any Ideas how to get around this?
Well, the packages are linked against the wrong (a newer) glibc library. I think they were built on the wrong system there at suse.
You cannot easily overcome this. Please don't even think of upgrading your glibc. This would render your whole system useless like a broken toaster. To be exact: KDE 3.1.5 would run after that, but all other programs (filesystem, daemons, X11, simply everything) would not run anymore, so you could never start KDE because you cannot boot up your system.
So I think the "easiest" solution would be to grab the src.rpm's and rebuild with rpm --rebuild.
Thanks Daniel, maybe I'll give that a go, on the other hand by the time I actually get around to it 3.2 may be here.
