Well I have a similar problem with my laptop, an old Clevo model. The
touchpad works fine but an external PS/2 mouse does not work. I can move
the mouse pointer with the external mouse but none of the buttons work. I
have tried a number of different mouse and driver settings to no avail. I
dislike using the touchpad and prefer to use an external mouse.
Again all previous versions of SuSE have worked without a problem with this
laptop. I suspect there is something amiss with the alps driver.
I've tried several different mouse types offered in YaST's Control Center,
however, none work as well as I'd like. Nothing that I've tried so far works
as well as previous installations (e.g. SuSE 9.1, 8.2, etc.) have worked. I
submitted a request to SuSE installation support. I'll pass their
recommendations on when I hear from them.
Thanks to all.
