[opensuse-kde3] 42.2 safely remove USB stick yes, USB HD no
After I put in a FAT32 USB stick and choose open in whatever, normal user can safely remove from the system tray object. Permission is denied as normal user if attached external EXT3 HD similarly, that otherwise can be used as expected, to the same USB port, and even though normal user is a member of group 'disk', and after adding user to wheel group. https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde3/2015-10/msg00000.html et seq was unhelpful. Anyone know how to fix this? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Proverbs 16:21 (New Living Translation) Team OS/2 ** Reg. No, But it has been broken for a long time. We need to check the TDE bugzilla/patches to see where this was fixed. I know it has been broken since at least 13.1 (I suspect a dbus or gvfs or ... being the culprit) I can confirm the exact behavior you describe. -- David C.
