[opensuse-kde3] Slow Video 11.4/KDE3/RageXL
Hi guys. Just got 11.4/KDE3 running on an old Compaq DL380 G2 server. It has dual P3/1.4Ghz chips and 6GB RAM. The video is a Rage XL 8MB on board. Running KDE3, the desktop is EXTREMELY slow. I don't see a module loaded for it. I doubt the ATI repo has any drivers for something this old, and without the good old SaX2, I'm kinda stumped on how to fix this. Any ideas? No. It's just REALLY SLOW. Otherwise, it's working fine. Took awhile to get KDE3 running since I forgot the session package(again!). Haven't really done too much with it yet. It's more of a lag than anything else. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+help@opensuse.org

Keep the faith brother. There have been a lot of changes in Xorg over the past few months. You may want to file the issue with bugzilla. On the up side, kde3 on 11.4 rocks. Ilya/Robert have done a fantastic job with it. The empty kcontrol issue is just a nit that I'm sure will get worked out. I saw it on 11.0, it seemed fixed on 11.3, but I see it again on 11.4. It just makes configuring a little slower, but has no effect on how kde3 works. (and it works great!) Good luck with the sslloowwnneess issue :) -- David C. Robert works on Trinity port as I know. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+help@opensuse.org
