Any idea how to fix this?

Interesting,
I have my screensaver set the same, but I do have powermanagement set to blank after 6 min and turn display off after 8 min.
I have not had any problem with 15.0 or 15.1 waking up with the mouse or keyboard. I do recall a whole rash of issues with Intel chipsets over the past year. Are you using the standard kernel for 15.1? I recall the issues being with later kernels, but this may very well be an Intel specific issue. I have nvidia on my laptop and so far, no problems at all.
I second the Kudos to the openSUSE folks keeping KDE3 the best darn KDE3 on earth!
David, I enabled display power control (set "Enable display power management" option to on). Now the problem has gone. Even if all 3 options below (Standby after, Suspend after, Power off after) are set to disabled, the screensaver works.
