I don't know how to deconstruct a .rpm file
You don't actually need to deconstruct to examine what it contains. Just open it the same way you open any regular DIR or archive file, with Midnight Commander (mc), select what you want to see, and hit F3. If you need to extract a file from the RPM, select it and hit F5, same as copying from a regular DIR or archive file. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
