-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I've noticed that under oS12.1 / KDE3 writing to NTF partition on external USB disk is terribly slow. It was not before and my (wrong) impression was that it happened after I defined the second partition on that disk as encrypted ReiserFS. The same disk worked perfectly well under oS11.4/KDE3. After discussion on opensuse list it turned out that the reason was that auto-mounter mounted this partition with sync option. Manual remounting without sync resolved the issue. I've also checked that under 12.1/KDE4 the disk is mounted correctly without "sync". So two questions: 1) was there any KDE3 / 12.1 update during last 2-3 weeks that changed something in auto-mounter behavior? 2) if possible, can someone explain or refer me to some documentation describing how this auto-mounting mechanism works (general flow and where the mounting options come from).
