Konsole root shell or su-ing in any terminal window works, so it is not that I cannot run programs as root at all.
I installed yast2-control-center-qt3 when I installed KDE3.
That's what I have on 42.3 and 15.0.
Now I replaced it with yast2-control-center-4.0.4.
Why?
Wanted to see if it makes a difference.
None of them works. And not only yast is affected, I cannot start other applications as root either, eg krusader root mode or kde3 control center administrator mode. ... I have also Leap 42.3 with KDE3 and it doesn't have this problem.
Does it have yast2-control-center-kde3 installed?
yast2-control-center-kde3: typo? My Leap 42.3 has yast2-control-center-qt3. But I tried yast2-control-center-qt too, and kdesu works with it too. I don't think this is a yast2-control center issue. As I told yast-independent programs can't use kdesu either.
