Hi,
I notice that what I see on "irc.libera.chat" #opensuse-admin, is not what I see on the logs at https://monitor.opensuse.org/heroes/
The logs show long conversations, while the chat shows nothing or just a line or two. And some times, not the same lines, as if both were different chats.

Probably that is because the move away from Freenode is still not done and thus there _are_ indeed two different chats.
Not sure where the ToDo-List is tracked, but it could include
# a decision from board@o.o about where to move
# reserve channels, copy configs, reconfigure bots
# write+publish an article for news.o.o
# maybe more?

Oh. I was starting to suspect that. So, I need to track both.

Huh, (using pidgin) I can not connect to irc.freenode.net, it says "incorrect password", and disconnects. I guess the admins there have banned me or something because I connect to irc.libera.chat :-/

I don't see why - no doubt many of us are on both freenode and libera.
This morning on freenode:
[Notice] -root- [Global Notice 1/3] We are moving past legacy freenode to a new fork. The new freenode is launched. You will slowly be disconnected and when you reconnect, you will be on the new freenode. We patiently await to welcome you in freedom's holdout - the freenode. [2021-06-15 02:20] [Notice] -root- [Global Notice 2/3] If you're looking to connect now, you can already /server chat.freenode.net 6697 (ssl) or 6667 (plaintext). It's a new genesis for a new era. Thank you for using freenode, and Hello World, from the future. freenode is IRC. freenode is FOSS. freenode is freedom. [2021-06-15 02:20] [Notice] -root- [Global Notice 3/3] When you connect, register your nickname and your channel and get started. It's a new world. We're so happy to welcome you and the millions of others. We will be posting more information in the coming days on our website and twitter. Otherwise, see you on the other side!

Yesterday they announced they were setting up new infra, not migrating accounts or channels and were beginning the process of moving everyone over. So if you want to continue using freenode you'll need to connect with no username and password recreate your account then join again.
I and others got the following message:

We've been tracking this in https://code.opensuse.org/board/tickets/issue/4
Bernhard, can you check in with Darix directly for potential open issues (or share your findings in that ticket)?
Thanks, Gerald
