Hi From my perspective, the software to use is something you folks are happy to maintain etc, but if we are voting (and secure funding) then it would be (a) just for continuity's sake :)
There are really two sides to it - 1) keep the Forums running, but in Nuernberg instead of Provo, hopefully enabling an overall better experience for everyone. 2) optionally moving to a more able/moderm/safe/pretty platform. My main focus is (1). I had hoped to just copy everything across, but the PHP version support is a real problem.
What about the user logins (~40K), will the users need to login to the openSUSE SSO solution? Will this SSO integrate with vB?
I have no such plans, no.
If the solution decided by you folks is not vB, I'm also assuming the current data can be available as a read only vB archive in it's final state....
I really don't know - we cannot run the vB software we have, it's just too old. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.8°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org
