I've progressed from the DOSFBB, WinFBB to LinFBB over the years ... it is very good software and with Linux, it is very stable ... I am using SuSe 9.0 with latest updates ... LinFBB is v7.04j ... PTC-II Pro with pactor and two packet daughterboard tnc's ... PK-232's in KISS mode ... The Pactor channel runs without any problems, even when radio ports have a problem ... The Telnet sessions work without any problem, even when radio ports have a problem ... A PTC-II is set up in PORT.SYS only as shown below ... A PK-232 TNC is connected in KISS mode as shown below ... AXPORT file reflects this and also the AX.CONFIG file below ... PROBLEM ~~~~~~~~ If I restart the PTC-II (power off and then on again) and reboot LinFBB, I can make a connection to another BBS on packet and forward ... This will work for a random period then disconnect (rf link 'may' not be so good??) .. If I try to repeat the RF connection, the PTC-II will start and then rapidly try and connect for the number of retries set and then disconnect .. Any further packet connects, incoming or outgoing, has the same rapid retries and then disconnect .. To make it work again I must resart the PTC-II (power off and then on again) and reboot LinFBB ... On HF I use PK-232's in KISS mode - they give the same result ...
