Yeah, that's the Name vs GenericName issue. Magnus or Federico should probably comment on that, since it's a gnome-main-menu issue.

This one is trivial to solve, as long as we come with a list of capplets to add there. I had planned to do that a bit later in the cycle (since it's doable when we're frozen for many many things), but help is welcome. If you can come with a list of tasks, it's just a simple thing to change in gconf2-branding-openSUSE, iirc. How about: *Add User (opens YaST User and Group Management) *Change Look and Feel (opens Appearance) *Add Printer (opens system-config-printer) *Configure Network (or Connect to the Internet?), opens NetworkManager settings window *Change Account Picture (opens About Me) *Open Administrator Settings (opens YaST)

Some of these came from the 10.2 Control Center (http://en.opensuse.org/Image:GNOME_Control_center.jpg), BTW.

What do ya'll think? Anything that should be added/removed/changed?

Are we really expecting to have translated text from gconf? If yes, then it doesn't work out well with the way we do gconf branding; we'd probably need to find another way... If you put them into somewhere in a .pot file (lcn or yast branch), we will translate it, same as we do the rest of pots.

Not really. This means we'll have translations available, but they won't get used, given how the code currently behaves. I don't think we have ever changed this list via branding.

We do since 11.1 at least, afaik. Are you suggesting that we should patch the schema file in gnome-control-center? (I'd like to avoid that, but if there's no other solution...)

Nothing about the control-centre tasks in RC1 yet. Will this (adding common tasks to the left pane of gnome-control-centre) be done for 11.2 final at all?
