I upgraded last night and on startup I get the message that GNOME Shell won't be starting, and I'm sent to the GDM login. Where is the best place to begin the diagnosis?
Hi, The best start is checking the .xsession-errors in the users home directory. Very often there are hints on what went wrong there. One thing that MIGHT be the issue is the accidental update of gconf ahead of 3.1.5 (to 3.1.6) which was breaking a few things. That was reverted this morning back to 3.1.5. Hopefully the build is being published soon enough there (But this must not explicitly be your issue...)
