We implemented a new patch in Cairo for Factory already. Please have a look at that package and see if that's what you're after.

Hi. Patch by Fisiu is still much better. You should try it from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Fisiu/openSUSE_Factory/ and you'll see. There is cairo-1.8.6-21.1 package.
