[12-15-11 05:16]: openSUSE 12.1 x86_64 3.1.0-1.2-desktop GNOME3 3.2.1 I have an external USB CD/DVD drive. This drive has always 'just worked' in openSUSE 11.3 & 11.4. However, under 12.1, the drive doesn't seem to participate as a removable storage device. It does not appear in Nautilus when a disc is inserted or raise any prompt when a blank disc is inserted. My user is a member of the "cdrom" group. me guess: You upgraded from 11.4.
Nope, fresh install.
I have the same problem on an upgrade from 11.4 --> 12.1 And I have it for all removable devices that do not exist on boot, and I may be wrong about boot. I have pmount installed and can use the devices via pmount or by mounting via root/super-user.
Urg, yea, I don't want to have to do that.
Posted problem on opensuse w/o resolution :^(
Same here; no responses to that message [over on opensuse@]
will follow your thread but do not believe it is a gnome problem as I run kde almost exclusively and kde is where I see the problem.
