Hi,
I've took a look at Ray Strode's plymouth integration patch for Fedora and made 2 small changes into it (unnecessary entries, includes applied by previous patches on gdm). It's in attach. I don't know if it helps at later stages. DimStar could you please take a look into it? It does build against Factory, but I have no knowledge to really understand the changes code wise.
There's some aditional documentation about it in this pages, amongst other things. I'm still patching other software to test the wanted behavior later on. Patch is in attach.

hope it helps.
Hi, I think this is an amazing work you're doing here and I'm sure we'll have a look at this and try to get the best out of this. The only 'surprise' which I could preview so far with this patch might be a conflict with our gdm-vt-allocation-hack.patch: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file?file=gdm-vt-allocation-hack.patch&package=gdm&project=GNOME%3AFactory&srcmd5=7f5ae3b84cf6a4cbb10f17f57f697557 Other than that, as plymouth might have some bigger implications, we surely will have to align also with the KDE team here, to make sure that also KDM looks as smooth as gdm.
