Feature changed by: Adrian Schröter (adrianSuSE) Feature #314893, revision 8 Title: Support size check for product builds Buildservice: New - Milestone: 2.6 Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Stephan Kulow (coolo) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: OBS/kiwi shall offer a configuration to fail builds when they become larger than a defined size. The check makes sense in kiwi itself, OBS needs to extend the product converter. We should offer to specify the size in numbers or by defining the media type (CD, DVD, DVD+R, DVD-R, bluray). Marcus, can you define how this should look alike in kiwi xml? Or shall we use the product specific extenstions for this only? Discussion: #1: Stephan Kulow (coolo) (2013-03-07 16:27:48) Note, that I learned last week that CD is ambigious :) CD can be 80min, 90min and even 100min - but a standard CD has 80min (700MB) #2: Marcus Schaefer (sax2) (2013-03-08 09:50:58) iirc you want kiwi to build the iso but exit unsuccessful if the result is beyond a specified size ? if so I think it belongs to the product options <instsource> <productoptions> <maxsize unit="M">700</maxsize> </productoptions> </instsource> If you want to stop early, meaning before the collector has all the packages loaded it might be really hard to know before how big the iso will become #3: Stephan Kulow (coolo) (2013-03-08 10:01:09) Actually I want the same for live cds - and I think we should avoid all M sizes, because they are very confusing with CDs and DVDs. CDs have 700MiB while DVDs have 4700GB -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/314893
