[opensuse-factory] Re: Tumbleweed wireless
I updated from 20190301 to 20190315 yesterday. I have a 1TB disk in my laptop so never thought about room. But I got the message not enough room and had to kill with the power switch. So I downloaded the 20191315 image and installed but there was no wireless. Updated to 20190318 this a.m. but still no wireless. So I have a 3/15 install and a 3/18 update. I'm using NetworManager on KDE. Wired connection works fine. NetworkManager is obviously running; it finds the wired connection the moment I plug in the cable. There are no wireless networks available as SSID values. Is it possible I damaged hardware killing the out-of-room update process? My wireless worked fine up until that time. It's a Dell Precision 7720 with wireless Intel 8265/8275. I also have a usb Realtek8292 which lights up through the whole installation process but dies on the next boot and stays dead. I've been on Google several hours but nothing I've found helps. Glad to hear that it is working. Wifi is now quite stable. As long as you have the firmware installed and the card is not too new, then it works. I miss the old days when wifi on/off was a physical switch. As to why the WMI code decided your wifi should be off after the installation, I have no idea.
