[opensuse-factory] Where are sources for pm-utils?

pm-utils.spec points to http://gitorious.org/opensuse/pm-utils-suse, but last commit there is 8 months old and checkout has no relation to sources in package. How can I submit patches to it? TIA -andrey -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

pm-utils is/will not used anymore when booted with systemd. So I suggest you not to invest much time on it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hrm, does actually systemd support _anything_ from pm-utils already? Like from image_size setting to compressed/enrypted images? Systemd is still pretty immature and is not going to supersede anything in the near future. Until any of the enterprise linux providers decides to actually use it and sell support for that. And I am very much awaiting the moment when I have no issues with my /sbin/init. - -- js suse labs -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJQlBKYAAoJEL0lsQQGtHBJE3cP/3yigHKrM5I+duD4CLWvx6kK dJ1bMEB4ejFVUw5FYErrhl7Mnis6XJOhpeT71BCm+BdEQfIS6/EKVm1ow+ciSUBh eaffDNbiVU8DwLA9xjO5GA90ITUiA7iJv0sU/g1xqVGZvg4tEPFJhXlX7ZYrCXBq 0TO1PQRU0wVkxzeIMR5WYkL/v4uOb0iSVAjusLQzKu3noBLj1lxJaPmIPGWEiGcZ kYE2U8sjrlbSE2E2s4WuljP1YcvNmH5BftB8Bafv7kfgpLll0EM88Ovju4eibSjX A3B5gVnNrLNuM9GA3j8WTDU7boaoi0ZzKyB0nPh69Q3HZ3R7xkYQ4RFNlt0amDDe O0CuaTs8LuUT0M7cCL33F35SB7tE9U9d6YrDU1Vq3AmiYCWmx4YKJrQNTPT0TtbS tw9as1CJV3gOTJ/BKgeIG1DDjoPtAbP2u50VtKeWvFyqyLpWpX18x05QKokD9HvW Y4rMVkDUdjHkdB22APdZpTV03fhK+v2tkE0SMplxU9B2ui3vSa4D94O03vVRnPrx JLuFZN6bOYIISGyseD3jOTCaiNdsZ1tX7G7XbAvyyFjI9d6qhGXfpCaDh9fPNBwS Gwj2XRVSWtN0lRyivaK4ec6PkteeWnCiE/pDmXwW15aBXsbTxZh+7zrI96hDx5AQ y4znXE2cyvgsGxwO0cd/ =dVcj -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

You may want to combine those efforts (of keeping disks going) with https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=parkverbot&project=openSUSE%... You know, when you put "green" drives into enclosures, opaque hardware RAIDs, USB and SAS bridges and other whacky enclosured, the disk-level magic commands start to stop working - if it ever worked before, that is, since even that is a gamble. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

What is implemented is "echo ... > /sys/power/state". Do you mean that you are going to throw away all accumulated knowledge about quirks needed to resume from suspend/hibernation? Good luck in this case. Oh, and how systemd ensures that system boots the correct image required to resume after suspend to disk? I didn't mean if it uses it, but if it supports what pm-utils used to. Does systemd use suspend package or only stores something into /sys/power? If the latter, it will not obsolete pm-utils as many of us need pm-utils for our packed/encrypted hibernation images.

I think this is pretty real, not uncertain. I'm, like everybody else, bitten by the bugs every day. Yes, I reported those, but it will take some time before they are fixed. And even after that, the developers are crazy, so that the issues recur regularly. You mean this? “Note that scripts or binaries dropped in /usr/lib/systemd/system-sleep/ are intended for local use only and should be considered hacks. If applications want to be notified of system suspend/hibernation and resume there are much nicer interfaces available.” It is the only appearance of the word "script". - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. There are support for hooks in /usr/lib/systemd/system-sleep (and similar directories).
