[opensuse-factory] How to Ascertain Which Version of a Package Will Be in openSUSE 11.0?
Hi, How does one determine which version of a given package (if any) will be included in the openSUSE 11.0 distribution? If it's relevant, I'm particularly interested in which version of the nVidia driver will be provided (initially). The same you find in the RC now, there can't be version changes this late.

I guess that's up to the nvidia people :-? After all, suse/novell/opensuse doesn't provide it. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Fine, but where do I learn what that is? I cannot afford to retrieve and install just to learn what's included.

But the openSUSE / Novell people know which version they're including in the release. That's what I want to know. Well, you can browse the ftp server and find out :-)

No, they don't include it, and they never have. They just point you to the nvidia home site for you to get it, or somebody creates the ymp whatever links to automate the process. But they are never included in the distro, that would be illegal, AFAIK. However, somebody might now. I haven't installed the propietary nvidia driver, so I can't tell you. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Yes - the nVidia driver will be downloaded from the nVidia site. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA -- kai www.filesite.org || www.4thedadz.com || www.perfectreign.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
