either drop the discussion and read the many discriptions available about openSUSE distributions on opensuse.org or google, or take it to the much more general and full of crap list opensuse or opensuse-offtopic. </quote>
YOU appear to make a deliberate effort to be abrasive. and very poorly represententing your obvious employer, SUSE. you are posting on their behalf?
I do not represent anyone but myself. I am attempting to offer help clarifying this matter which appears to be very important to many people on this list but which is not actually spelled out anywhere that I can see. Richard Brown expressed interest in my assistance in doing so. If nobody wants it clarified, then just say so and I will shut up and go away. But if you don't clarify it, then this mistake will keep happening, I am very sure. -- Liam Proven - Technical Writer, SUSE Linux s.r.o. Pretty sure that having it clearly written down is in the interest of the project - but the entire thread simply does not belong on the opensuse-factory mailing list: here we discuss devleopment of our distros (Tumbleweed and Leap). It's a forum by and for developers (at large). Of course we have the occasional 'user' - but even there, the 'end user support' is split out from here into the opensuse@ mailing list as to not distract people that want to move the distros forward. The discussion you are attempting to have suits much better on the -project list. Which is where the openSUSE project is being discussed and where the identity of the project is shaped. Cheers Dominique

+1 from me. And, Liam, I do support your efforts, having a clear explanation on the website/wiki would stop speculations and guesses by having a single point of reference. -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a.
