[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - Review of the week
Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
This has been a rather quiet week in the land of Tumbleweed. There was
only one snapshot released this week (20150325).
This snapshot was held up by the upgrade of p11-kit, that managed to
pass all existing tests in a staging area, but luckily the extended
test suite before a snapshot got out caught the fact that openssl
certificate handling was badly broken. (not really due to p11-kit, but
the way things interact).
Once the needed bits and pieces (package wise as well as an additional
test, testing to preveent similar such errors in the future) were put
together, OBS was busy rebuilding and openQA answered with a green
light to get this snapshots out to you.
Other updates to look out for:
------------------------------
CMAKE 3.2
Not a very intrusive update, but the FindOpenGL no longer explicity
links X11 libraries. Some upstreams were (wrongly) relying on this
behavior. Most packages in Tumbleweed should be fixed already, but you
might still see similar such errors in your own areas.
What awaits us in the near future?
----------------------------------
*systemd 219* made it again through all staging, taking care of all
the regressions that were seen in the last attempts. It has been
checked in to openSUSE:Factory and the next snapshot will be handed
over to openQA to validate the outcome again. We're confident to bring
this soon to the users.
*GNOME 3.16* is currently in staging. In overall, it looks already
very promising; only 2 tests are failing in a not yet understood way
(polkit interaction right after boot does not work, see for example
https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/53999.
I wish you all a fun time,
Dominique
