[opensuse-factory] YaST update - latest TW file conflict
When performing a update to the latest TW version (using YaST) I get the following error: File /usr/lib64/libgslcblas.so.0.0.0 from install of libgsl19-2.1-1.1.x86_64 (openSUSE-Tumbleweed-Oss) conflicts with file from package libgsl0-1.16-8.5.x86_64 (@System) Is this a packaging error? on my tw, rpm -q --whatrequires libgsl0 returns nothing so, zypper -v rm libgsl0 and no more conflict. I believe it is a packaging error. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

zypper didn't warn you before ??? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yes zypper did "warn" me, but no ill effects so far. -- Ken linux since 1994 S.u.S.E./openSUSE since 1996 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I get no output from: rpm -q --requires hugin |grep libgls hugin-2016.0.0-83.1.x86_64 ??? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
I continued with the update anyway and haven't had any issues, even after restarting my computer. On 29 July 2016 at 06:24, Ken Schneider - Factory <suse-list3@bout-tyme.net> wrote:

This is indeed a packaging error - somebody violating the shared library packaging policy. A bug was filed last night for this: https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=991155 As a workaround, you can do before you dup your system:
zypper in libgsl19 -libgsl0
This will also upgrade a few packages relying on libgsl, but that's to be expected Cheers, Dominique

It appears so. I followed Dominique’s suggestion, accepted the package change and zypper dup ran very well. Roman-- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
