I did about the same thing. I downloaded and installed only the userland and jre rpms and it seems to have fixed things. I also uninstalled some off the openSuSE's version. Check "rpm -qa | grep OpenOffice" and see if the vesions agree. This sounds scary. The openSUSE and upstream OOo binaries are not binary compatible. Petr, You may have missed some mails. The "." is related to SElinux. I think the consensus was that Donn somehow enabled SElinux which in turn caused him massive problems. If there is a bug, it is related to how SElinux got enabled. Yep. What I did not see, or noticed if it was written, is if after disabling selinux the dots disappear and things work, or something else has to be done to remove the "dots"? - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. It is fine to install the upstream version as a workaround. Though, we would really appreciate if you report such bugs into bugzilla, so that the right people know about them and could fix the openSUSE packages. Could you please report such important bugs directly into bugzilla next time? Developers do not read all mailing list, so they miss it. Fortunately, Thomas has done it yesterday, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=603316 Hmm, does it help you to remove the package OpenOffice_org-LanguageTool?
