[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - Review of the week 2018/09
Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, We reached the month of March, which, at least here in the northern hemisphere, is said to be the beginning of Spring. Not sure if I can believe that when looking outside. What I CAN believe though is this: Tumbleweed has had another week with 4 snapshots, 0224, 0225, 0226 and 0227. These updates were part of those snapshots: * Linux kernel 4.15.5 & 4.15.6 * Qemu 2.11.1 * Mozilla-NSS 3.35 * GTK+ 3.22.28 In the future snapshots, you will receive * Glibc 2.27 * KDE Plasma 5.12.2 * Linux kernel 4.15.7 * UDisks 2.7.6 * GCC 8 will be introduced as additional compiler (not distro default compiler yet) Cheers, Dominique
We reached the month of March [...] the beginning of Spring.
Actually, even on the northern hemisphere, the start date depends on country, culture and profession. For example, in Ireland spring starts on the 1st of February. Germany uses equinox for the start of spring and autumn. For spring that's usually the 20th of March but sometimes the 19th or 21st. However, according to wikipedia, meteorologists use the 1st of March due to an agreement of the World Meteorological Organization.
