[opensuse-factory] Mouse configuration in 11.2
Hi, I can't use the middle button of my mouse, and I wanted to configure it. Now I can't find the place where the mouse driver is configured. It's not in sax2, it's not in Yast, and in the KDE4 system setting is nothing to find. Where is this now? To configure my optical Logitech mouse, I use a pointer statement in my ~/.Xmodmap (old fashioned, but it still works): pointer = 1 8 3 4 5 6 7 2 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 (ok, upgrading from 11.1 to 11.2 I have had to change the sequence.) So basically this is a regression step in 11.2/KDE4? BC -- I work to live not live to work. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Has there ever been any graphical tool for this purpose? Afaik for years, sax2 could only configure vendor and model of the mouse, but maybe I just overlooked something. hB. -- \\\\\ Katarina Machalkova \\\\\\\__o YaST developer __\\\\\\\'/_ & hedgehog painter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

sax2 is still available, but the mouse configuration part seems to be gone. Maybe, it is worth opening a bug report. The Gnome Control Center let you configure the mouse to some degree, but it seems to lack 3 button emulation or activating special buttons. My mouse has 16 buttons (or button-like feature). Unfortunately, X seems to support 5 buttons only. And if you to activate a special button instead of the 5 standard buttons you must use a pointer statement that I posted yesterday. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
