[opensuse-factory] Firefox: master Password does not work.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Beta 5.2 Suddenly, my master password in Firefox is not accepted. It worked in Beta 4 or 3. If I go to properties, set master password, enter one, click accept... nothing happens. No error, no any other message. Can only cancel. It does work in Thunderbird. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. It seems this is known. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=444780 When I was adding a me-too to the report, the computer hard-locked. Nothing in logs... I'm afraid I can't do any testing at all if the kernel or whatever is so unstable as to hard lock. I'll wait a month or two till I try again... :-/ I'm simply trying to check if old bugs have been solved, and each time I try, I find new bugs that impede my progress. This is way too bad. Worst beta in years. No, I'm not reporting details of the crash. I have none. No logs, no nothing. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. I agree, its even worse than/as(?) an alpha2 version..;) But many things are much more improved: speed of overal performance, update speed much higher through better pack/unpack apps, update/repair/new install via netinstal iso's, with only 150+MB, much nicer installer interface, kde4 impoved usability, so it is not all bad;) -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (M9.) All worthless, if the machine will silently crash. Even if the firefox passwords do not work, it doesn't matter at all: I don't know for how long the machine will stay running. I can't test anything. Kernel stability is paramount. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. It does work in Thunderbird.

I know. I learnt about it soon after I mailed to the list, but I couldn't say so: machine hard locked first. I didn't expect such a bad regression so close to RC1. I feel that I will skip 11.1 altogether :-( Each time I boot factory to report on my "pet bugs", I find a new one I have to report first because it impedes me testing my issues. At the beginining of the month it was hibernation crashing the machine, then firefox is unusable, now it is hard-locks... I quit. I can't handle it. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
