[opensuse-factory] Strange sentence in yast-registration/master
Weblate showed me the sentence:
Online Medium

The media based upgrade was requested, but you are using the Online medium which does not provide any packages to install.
It looks strange that the Online medium does not provide the package to install. In my view the Online media do provide all packages whereas the media based upgrade uses a local medium, which most likely does not have all the packages. No this is correct, I believe it is the error you see if you are using an online installation medium but don't configure any repositories. The online installer / updater is designed to be a small download so it just contains the installer and not any packages, then during installation you point it directly to the repo of your chosen OS, this is great for smaller installs because it means you only download the packages you need not everything on the DVD. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

No, this is correct. Beware yast2-registration is about SLE, not really openSUSE. See https://www.suse.com/releasenotes/x86_64/SUSE-SLES/15-SP2/#_changes_in_15sp2 for more details -- Frederic Crozat Release Manager SUSE Linux Enterprise SUSE
