[opensuse-factory] Lots of old packages breaks zypper dup of factory
It may only be the mirrors of factory that download.opensuse.org is sending me to, but there are a bunch of old packages there which zypper dup would like to downgrade to which causes some real nasty conflicts when dup'ing from a 11.2 installation. Am I the only one seeing this problem? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Haven't seen "nasty conflicts" from suggested downgrades.
Am I the only one seeing this problem?
yes/no. I see the downgrades, but not the conflicts. Playing with the priorities to get the repos in line with your needs/desires will help. Since you are "dup"ing from "11.2", I would think that you would reduce the priorities (larger number) of the 11.2 repos and raise the priorities of "Factory" repos. Then you should see less of the "downgrades". "Usually" the only time I see conflicts is when someone has built a poorly constructed rpm. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Simple but brilliant solution -- thank you. Following the directions I found for switching to Factory I had removed (disabled) all the non-factory repositories. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

My understanding is that Factory was usable during the 11.2 development process, but once 11.2 GM was released, Factory should have been disabled - unless you want to test pre-11.3 stuff. Is that not correct? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

usable, but frozen for a short time. And then there was Factory_Snapshot.
but once 11.2 GM was released, Factory should have been disabled - unless you want to test pre-11.3 stuff. Is that not correct?
disabled *if* you were *only* interested in 11.2. My understanding. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Yes. Factory is now 11.3. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
