[opensuse-factory] Shall we update Targetcli to version 3.0

Hi, I have a suggestion, shall we update Targetcli to version 3.0? The current version of factory is targetcli 2.1 and rtslib 2.2, see https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/targetcli and https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/python-rtslib Now the software stack changed, lio-utils are deprecated and have been superseded by targetcli, but the version 2.1 targetcli in open SUSE factory still working on lio-utils, so I think maybe it is time to update targetcli to version 3.0 now. Targetcli 3.0 is no longer based on lio-utils, it is the latest version from the upstream. see https://github.com/Datera/rtslib and https://github.com/Datera/targetcli. How do you think? Zhu, Assuming there is nothing controversial in doing those updates, in the openSUSE doapoly the easiest thing to do is for you to branch the devel project and prepare an update, then issue an SR to the development projects. E.g.. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/Base:System/targetcli https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:languages:python/python-rtslib Then the maintainers just have to review your work and forward it to factory once they are comfortable with update. Once that is done and nothing in factory depends on lio-utils a drop request is needed. I'm not how a non-maintainer initiates that for factory. Greg -- Sent from my Android device with K-9 Mail. Unless you havent done so already, talk to hare. Last time I looked the READMEs said the config format changed in v3. If that is indeed the case the upgrade from old to new format has to be implemented in the affected rpm packages.
