I just tried to connect to my linux pc from a windows pc in my home network via vnc. It used to work out-of-the-box with SUSE <=10.1, where upon connecting I was presented with a kdm login screen. Now I am prompted to enter a password and have no clue what that would be. According to Sax2 no password is required. Even after changing Sax2 to actually require a password, that very same password was not accepted when I tried to connect :( Any hints? -- TIA Andreas --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

And what was wrong? What was the reason?
Thx Lukas
The vnc service(s) needed an extra option "securitytypes=none". I edited the file /etc/xinetd/vnc, but it can be done just as well within yast. What still puzzles me is how earlier SUSE versions worked without this option. -- Gruß Andreas --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
