Yes, I see this, too. I guess it stores everything in the wallet, not only the key. And once you connect to a network, it stores some "last used" time there. Just a guess though.

Oddly enough, I noticed that these obsolete requests to access kwallet occur at the time when the connection has just been established, and not when the connection is initiated.

This would be explained by the above guess.

I submitted bug 612771 already a few days ago.
