[opensuse-factory] Status: M3
Hi, The 2 blocker issues for M3 are fixed (thanks to Michael, Jeff and Richard) and so far it looks quite ok to release M3. I'm only doing my very first DVD installation with gcc 4.5 and I will need to do some more testing, but unless new stuff pops up I can't forsee atm we're back on track. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Hi Stefan! Is it possible to safely run a "zypper dup" from M2, or it better to upgrade by the M3 DVD? Thanks, Marco -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I don't see why not, that's what I plan on doing once the M3 repo is available. If you have the DVD, add it as a repo and make it the only active repo. Then issue zypper dup and then reboot to your new M3 system. -- Ken Schneider -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I will wait confidently until M3 be available. I use to do upgrading from Internet. BR, Marco -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

"zypper dup" should be safe. That's how I've updated my computer running factory for two years now :-) Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I have systems that have been upgraded that way from at least before 11.1 Gold and may be before 11.0 Gold. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... Thanks Sid, I was a bit worried, since the continuous warnings I red about Factory repositories moving from a place to other. BTW also I use to run a zypper dup on my "production system" Cheers, Marco -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Thanks Vincent! And thanks also (beside comment and congratulations) for the Evolution 2.29.90, that now starts perfectly on M2! Regards, Marco -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Please. Have mercy! Not another announcement! I wasted all my marketing mojo on the last two. Is there anyone who wants to take up the task of writing the M3 announcement? *puppyeyes* Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. I will of course (hey I'm a booster!) tell you my dirty secrets, guide you through the process AND tell you the location of Coolo's secret buttons. Just tell me in a PM if you're interested :) Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. The M3 announcement is more concentrated on "known bugs and work arounds" anyway :) Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
