[opensuse-factory] KDE5: display problem after upgrade
Hi, I did a "zypper dup" to upgrade to the latest snapshot. Zypper did update these packages, which look harmless: akonadi akregator bundle-lang-gnome-de bundle-lang-gnome-en dolphin gawk gstreamer-plugins-qt kaddressbook kdebase4-libkonq kdebase4-nsplugin kdepasswd kdepim4 kdialog keditbookmarks kmail knotes konqueror konqueror-plugins kontact korganizer libavcodec56 libavformat56 libavutil54 libdca0 libjack0 libkdepim4 libkonq5 libmad0 libmpeg2-0 libpackagekit-glib2-18 libpostproc53 libsqlite3-0 libswresample1 libswscale3 libyui-ncurses-pkg6 libyui-qt-pkg6 libzypp openSUSE-release openSUSE-release-ftp PackageKit PackageKit-backend-zypp PackageKit-browser-plugin PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin PackageKit-gtk3-module phonon4qt5-backend-gstreamer plasmoid-folderview python3-setuptools python-pycurl sqlite3 sqlite3-devel typelib-1_0-PackageKitGlib-1_0 virtualbox-guest-tools virtualbox-guest-x11 yast2 yast2-pkg-bindings zypper zypper-aptitude zypper-log However, after the update, I had massive display problems with KDE5: when firefox was open and the firefox window was covered by another window (konsole), screen started to flicker and moving the windows around was "jumpy". I resolved the problem by rolling back to the "pre-zypper" snapshot. I can't spot any KF5 based package that might have caused the issue there, from a quick cursory glance. What graphic version are you using?
However, after the update, I had massive display problems with KDE5: when
For reference to anyone posting on the list: there is no "KDE5" and never will be, in fact if you use "KDE5" it makes harder to pinpoint the exact issues. For better understanding: - Plasma 5 -> the workspace ("desktop" + associated programs) and widgets + the window manager - KDE Frameworks 5 (KF5) -> libraries (not user-facing stuff) - KDE Applications -> the main applications from KDE (KMail, Dolphin, the games etc...) The reasoning is quite long and is off-topic to this list: just remember that "KDE" isn't the desktop environment, but the community that produces the software. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: 6E1A4E79 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
