[opensuse-factory] 11.0 installed but not without problems.
It is not recognizing repositories from the main download site (even though I look myself and the packages are clearly where it said it was looking for them). I ended up downloading rpm's by hand to install extra software that I wanted. ... and rpm tells me that there's some file called /var/lib/gdm/.gvfs that I don't have permission to read or write to ... even though elsewise rpm works. There's a few bugs hanging around here. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

e.g, this is what mine looks like and used for update from RC1. "zypper in <package>" works for extra software I need. [OSS] name=OSS baseurl=http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/repo/oss/suse path=/ type=rpm-md enabled=1 autorefresh=1 gpgcheck=1 keeppackages=1

I occasionally see the same for /home/<user>/.gvfs, my guess is that something mounts it and forgets to umount it when done with it, issuing "umount /home/<user>/.gvfs" clears it. It's something to do with FUSE. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... where do i find this configuration? i'm kinda new to opensuse (though not to linux) ... this is already my favorite distribution. also PulseAudio's giving me an error when I try to open up the full mixer, I have to just open up ye' olde mixer, from the software list. ... sound works okay, though ... if you want to know what I've got installed, I chose "e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g" ... including all KDE and GNOME packages, virtually every server package except for DHCP, the entire development environment, the kit, the kaboodle and the quick brown fox that jumped over the lazy dog. ... i think that's when i suspect i started having problems, because at first boot up, i realized i only had 45 mb left on the install partition, so i booted gparted from a livecd and rearranged some stuff...

Glad you found it - /etc/zypp/repos.d/. Likewise, I install everything. I have dhcp installed but not running, I leave that task to my smoothwall3 firewall box connected to cable and to the backup wireless ASDL router. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
